Leaving Group Health
Why you may decide to leave your group health plan
There are a few situations in which you may decide to leave your group health plan:
- Medicare may cover more than what your group health plan does, and by dropping your group health plan, you save more money
- If through an employer, it could be that you may either lose the coverage from termination or the benefits will no longer be provided to you after you retire
- You prefer to have Medicare Advantage, a policy in which you cannot have another form of health insurance
Making the switch
Whatever the motive may be, you don’t have to worry about waiting until the General Enrollment Period to make this happen.
The Special Enrollment Period was created with this in mind. No one should have to go without health insurance. The same applies to you. Call me and I’ll help you with the rest.
